Only a few weeks ago, who could have predicted that “social distancing” would become the norm, and that a large percentage of the population would be under “stay-at-home” orders?

That, as we all know, is the unusual world we are living in.

The post-COVID-19 economy will definitely be different from the one we know so far. 
 
What are the actions that make the difference in this new economy?

There are many prudent steps regarding your marketing that you can take now to prepare for better days and some steps you can take now include:

1. Learn the Greatest  of skills – How to sell

 
In today’s world you have no right to want to be rich if you cannot sell. You  cannot tell me it is your life’s goal to be wealthy and you suck at sales.
 
 
 

2. You can decide to be cheaper, better or faster.

 
How can you make things cheaper for clients or better customers service or make things faster.
 
 
 

3. Identify your Sales Channel and position yourself along the channel.

 
Before your client buy your product. Your client Google; ‘Land in Lekki or Ibeju lekki’. Can you find your website there?
 
If Platforms like Nigerian property centre or property pro or Jiji comes up on the first page. Is your website or listing found on this platform? From there can the prospect trace you to your social media pages?
 
Is your Facebook or Instagram page empty or has contents on what you sell? This is how you position your  self along this sales channels.
 
 
 

4. Rule of Focus.

 
Focus is a major rule of the game. 
 
 
 

5. It is great to dominate outside but I believe Charity begins from Home.

 
Before you go and shine globally, make sure you are known in your local market first.
You  cannot say you want to dominate Dubai or UK or American real estate  when no-one knows your name in Naija.
 
Foreigners will buy from their own people or natives before they look at any foreigner.
 
 
 

6. Find out the rule of the game before thinking of dominating the global market.

 
 
 

7. Reinvent Your Mindset.

 
A Scarcity mindset is a major impediment to global Success.
 
A lot of people are not Successful today because of the limitations they created from their own mindset.
 
 
 

8. Look at the Value Chain and ask , where else can I operate on the Value Chain that can add me more money.

 
 
 

9. Aim to  the  best at what you  do , not the biggest.

 
I remember Fela Durotoye said this recently; ‘Stop trying to be THE BEST but be YOUR BEST’. 
 
You don’t need to start trying to bring others down. When you are Your best at what you do naturally. Be Your Best not The Best.
 
 
 

10. It is unacceptable, abnormal , unheard of to say you don’t know how to sell in 2020.

 
You  will struggle financially in this 2020  If you cannot sell.
 
 
 

11. You  need to identify your Sales Channels and Ask yourself What is  my Customer’s buying Journey?

 
 
 

12. You  need to be building a list that is relevant to your  Business.

 
Some platforms may not suit your  business, know where or where not to build your business.
 
 
 

13. In moving to what is relevant in The global economy, ask yourself What are the most 10 important skills for Post Covid-19?

 
If you are not updating your skills you will fade out of relevance post covid-19. irrespective of your age , experience or past qualifications.
 
 
 
 

14.  What is the Value Chain of the industry I am currently established in? The industry is saturated at the surface.

 
The more you go further down the Value Chain, the less the competition.
 
 
 
 

15. We cannot CHANGE the world until We CHANGE OURSELVES.

 
I see a lot of Realtors who want to change the World but are too lazy to change themselves. Some say it is too far, I don’t live on Island. Some people are too lazy to do the simple and daily things they should do.
 
How can you want to change the World when you are  struggling  to change your self and personal life.
 
 
 

16. Alliances and Collaborations will prosper you in the New Economy than competition.

 
 
 
 

17. It is not about how talented, smart or gifted you are. What will matter in this Global economy is your SHOWABILITY.
